Heads up: Oliebids is a new platform. We're building our network of homeowners and contractors, so some listings shown are samples until real jobs go live in your area.

Accessibility

Accessibility statement

Oliebids is committed to making its competitive-bid marketplace usable by the widest possible audience, including people who use assistive technologies. This statement covers our conformance target, known gaps, supported assistive technologies, and how to report accessibility issues.

Our commitment

Oliebids targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance across the public marketplace and the authenticated app. We treat accessibility as part of every release: design reviews, code reviews, and pre-launch checklists each include a11y criteria, and the engineering team owns remediation in the same backlog as functional work.

Our scope covers EU Accessibility Act (Directive 2019/882) Article 16 reporting and US ADA Title III obligations for places of public accommodation operating online. The statement below is the current snapshot, not a final certification.

Standards conformance

We measure against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. The same guidelines underpin Section 508 and EN 301 549, so a single internal target covers both US federal and EU public-procurement criteria.

Assistive technologies we test against

In plain language: we run the site through screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, and high-zoom checks. Our routine pre-release pass covers:

  • NVDA (latest stable) with Firefox and Chrome on Windows 11
  • VoiceOver with Safari on macOS Sequoia and on iOS 18
  • TalkBack with Chrome on Android 14
  • Full keyboard-only navigation on all supported browsers
  • Browser zoom up to 200%, page reflow tested to 400%

If you use a different assistive technology and run into trouble, please tell us. Real field reports are how we extend the matrix above.

Known issues and remediation

The list below is the current inventory of accessibility gaps we have identified internally, with the WCAG success criterion each one relates to and a target date for remediation. The list is updated as items ship.

  1. 01

    Real assistive technology pass

Automated and manual keyboard checks have been completed across marketing and authenticated flows. A full pass with NVDA on Windows and VoiceOver on macOS against the post-award chat, the bid submission form, and the auction details view is still scheduled.

    WCAG criterion
    4.1.2 Name, Role, Value
    Target
    August 2026
  2. 02

Color contrast on legacy auction badges

A small number of status badges in archived demo content fall below the 4.5:1 ratio on the marketing surface. The semantic token rework has shipped; the remaining instances are pending content migration.

    WCAG criterion
    1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum)
    Target
    July 2026
  3. 03

    Mobile reflow at 400% zoom

The job listing filter rail reflows correctly down to 320 CSS pixels, but the bid history table introduces a horizontal scroll at 400% zoom on narrow viewports. A card layout fallback is in progress.

    WCAG criterion
    1.4.10 Reflow
    Target
    July 2026
  4. 04

Captions and transcripts for demo videos

Marketing video walkthroughs are not yet on the site. When added, they will ship with synchronized captions and transcripts. Audio-only content (planned product updates) will include text transcripts.

    WCAG criterion
1.2.2 Captions, 1.2.3 Audio Description or Media Alternative
    Target
    At publish, prior to launch
  5. 05

    Third-party payment widgets

Stripe checkout components used for subscriptions and bid credits are governed by Stripe. We monitor their conformance reports and surface user-facing alternatives where their widgets fall short.

    WCAG criterion
4.1.2 Name, Role, Value (third-party component)
    Target
    Continuous monitoring
