Terms of Service & Trust and Safety

Oliebids operates a reverse-auction marketplace that connects people who post jobs ("posters") with contractors who bid on them. Oliebids is not a contractor, not an employer of contractors, and not a party to any agreement reached between users.

We do not guarantee the quality, legality, or safety of any job or work performed. Any contract for work is solely between the poster and the contractor.

When a poster creates a job, the bid window runs for 60 hours. Contractors submit bids during that window. At window close the job flips into a manual-pick phase. There is no automatic award.

In the manual-pick phase, the poster sees the top 3 bids and has 7 days to choose one. The poster picks based on price, proposed dates, and the bid line items. If no pick is made within 7 days, the job expires and no contractor is awarded.

Posting a job and awarding a bid is a commitment to engage in good faith. Repeated non-engagement may result in restrictions.

Contractor licensing, insurance, certifications, and bonding shown on Oliebids are self-reported by the contractor and are not verified by Oliebids.

Posters are responsible for reviewing profiles and confirming licensing, insurance, and final scope and price directly with the contractor before any work begins. Many jurisdictions provide public license lookups.

To protect both sides, contact information (phone, email, address) is hidden until a bid is awarded. After award, a private chat opens and contact details are revealed to the two participants only.

Payment for completed work is arranged directly between the poster and contractor, off-platform. Oliebids does not process job payments and never takes a commission on a contractor’s bid.

Oliebids charges contractors for access (subscriptions and/or pay-as-you-go bid credits) and may charge posters for posting beyond a free allowance. These fees are billed through our payment processor and are separate from any amount paid for the work itself.

Do not post unlawful, fraudulent, or unsafe jobs; do not misrepresent identity, credentials, or pricing; do not attempt to circumvent the contact-gating to harvest user data; do not harass other users.

Reported content and conduct are reviewed by our moderation team. Violations can lead to bid removal, strikes, suspension, or account termination.

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Oliebids is not liable for the acts or omissions of any user, for the quality or outcome of any job, or for indirect or consequential damages.

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
